Habitat
This species inhabits tropical rainforests in southeastern Peru and adjacent areas of Brazil. They prefer dense undergrowth, riverine forests, and areas with plenty of canopy cover for movement and foraging.
Diet
Stephen Nash's titi primarily eats fruits and seeds, supplemented with leaves, insects, and occasionally nectar. They forage in the canopy during the day, often in pairs or small groups, and show a preference for ripe fruits from various tree species.
Behavior
They live in monogamous pairs or small family groups, maintaining territories through vocalizations and scent marking. Stephen Nash's titi is diurnal and arboreal, spending most of their time in trees, and they engage in mutual grooming to strengthen social bonds. They are generally shy and avoid ground activity.
Conservation Status
IUCN status is Vulnerable due to habitat loss from deforestation and agriculture; population trends indicate a decline.
