Habitat
Silvery greater galagos primarily inhabit forests and woodlands in eastern and southern Africa, including both dry savannas and moist tropical areas. They prefer environments with dense vegetation for climbing and shelter, often near rivers or in gallery forests.
Diet
Silvery greater galagos mainly eat fruits, insects, and tree gums, with occasional small vertebrates like lizards. They forage at night, using their keen senses to locate food in the trees, and play a role in seed dispersal.
Behavior
Silvery greater galagos are nocturnal and arboreal, spending most of their time in trees and communicating with loud, distinctive calls. They live in small family groups with a dominant male, exhibit territorial behavior by marking trees, and are agile leapers covering several meters in a single bound.
Conservation Status
The IUCN status of the silvery greater galago is Least Concern, with a stable population trend, though habitat loss from deforestation poses a major threat.
