Habitat

Diet

Feeds mainly on eucalyptus leaves, flowers, and fruits, supplemented by insects, bark, and occasionally small vertebrates. They are nocturnal foragers, using their strong jaws to chew tough foliage and often climbing trees to access food.

Behavior

Nocturnal and arboreal, spending most of their time in trees where they forage and rest in dens. They are generally solitary but may tolerate others in overlapping territories, exhibiting territorial behaviors like hissing and scent marking to defend resources. During the day, they hide in tree hollows or dense foliage to avoid detection.

Conservation Status

IUCN status is Least Concern, with stable populations in most areas; major threats include habitat destruction from logging and urbanization, as well as predation by introduced species like foxes.
