Overview
This cichlid is a beautiful greenish color that can show other luminous colors when observed form different angles. They have bright red eyes with a glissering color on there breasts and throats.

Habitat
Inhabits rivers and also found in swamps and lakes.
Diet
Feeds on aquatic insects and crustaceans during high water, also on fishes during low water seasons.
Behavior
They can be highly aggressive around smaller fish. The male is know to grow slighty larger than the female. These fish are bi-parental pawners, like most cichids. The male will clean a spawning site (usually on a flat rock or surface) and when the female is ready she will lay her eggs there to be fertalized by the male. They can roughly lay anywhere from 100-200 eggs. This species has been known to be difficult to spawn.
