Redtoothed triggerfish are often solitary or in small groups, patrolling steep reef slopes during the day. They exhibit territorial behavior, aggressively defending feeding areas from intruders, and are known to use their dorsal spines to wedge into crevices for protection. They are primarily diurnal, actively foraging in open water but retreating to sheltered spots at night.
