Habitat

Primarily inhabits tropical rainforests and secondary forests in the Amazon basin of South America, preferring areas with dense vegetation and proximity to rivers. They are arboreal, living in the understory and mid-canopy levels of the forest.

Diet

Feeds mainly on fruits, leaves, and insects, with a preference for ripe fruits found in the canopy. They forage during the day, often in pairs, and supplement their diet with seeds and occasional flowers.

Behavior

Red-bellied titis live in monogamous pairs or small family groups, forming strong bonds with mutual grooming and duetting calls to defend territories. They are diurnal and arboreal, spending most of their time in trees and being highly territorial, with vocalizations used to communicate and ward off intruders.
