Habitat

This species inhabits primary and secondary forests, as well as wooded savannas in Central Africa, including countries like Cameroon and the Democratic Republic of Congo. They prefer areas with dense vegetation for cover and foraging, typically at elevations up to 1,500 meters.

Diet

Prince Demidorff's bushbaby primarily eats insects such as moths, beetles, and crickets, supplemented by fruits, tree gums, and occasionally small vertebrates like lizards. They forage nocturnally, using their acute hearing to detect prey and often licking sap from acacia trees.

Behavior

These bushbabies are nocturnal and arboreal, spending their nights leaping between trees and foraging alone or in pairs. They exhibit territorial behavior by marking areas with urine and emitting loud, infant-like cries to communicate. They are generally solitary outside of mating, with minimal social interactions.

Conservation Status

The IUCN status is Least Concern, with a stable population trend, though habitat loss from deforestation and agriculture poses a threat in their range.
