Habitat
This fish primarily inhabits freshwater rivers, streams, and flooded forests in the Amazon and Orinoco basins. It prefers warm, slow-moving or moderately flowing waters with plenty of vegetation for cover, commonly found in Brazil, Peru, and surrounding regions.
Diet
