Habitat
This species primarily inhabits tropical rainforests and mountainous regions in Southeast Asia, such as Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia. It prefers moist, forested areas with dense leaf litter and proximity to streams or slow-moving water.
Diet
The Long-nosed horned frog feeds mainly on insects like ants, beetles, and crickets. It employs a sit-and-wait ambush strategy, remaining motionless to capture prey at night.
Behavior
This frog is nocturnal and solitary, spending the day buried in leaf litter to avoid detection. It exhibits defensive behaviors such as inflating its body and remaining still when threatened, and males call to attract females during the breeding season.
Conservation Status
IUCN status is Least Concern, with stable populations overall, though habitat loss due to deforestation is a major threat.
