Habitat

Hardhead catfish primarily inhabit shallow coastal waters, bays, estuaries, and sometimes rivers along the western Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico. They prefer sandy or muddy bottoms and can tolerate a wide range of salinities, from freshwater to marine environments. This adaptability allows them to thrive in both subtropical and warm temperate regions.
