Habitat

This shrew primarily inhabits moist lowland forests, swamps, and riverine areas in East Africa, especially around Lake Albert in Uganda. It prefers dense vegetation and proximity to water sources, avoiding open or arid environments.

Diet

It feeds mainly on insects, earthworms, and other small invertebrates found in leaf litter and soil. Feeding is primarily nocturnal, with the shrew using its acute sense of smell to locate and capture prey quickly.

Behavior
