Behavior

Bull Trout are generally solitary and territorial, particularly in streams and rivers where they defend feeding areas. They are primarily nocturnal, actively hunting at night and resting in deeper waters during the day. These fish exhibit migratory behavior, moving between rivers, lakes, and streams for feeding and spawning, and can be aggressive towards other fish that enter their territory.

Fishing

The Bull Trout and the Dolly Varden are not as highly rated as game fish as most other members of the Salmonidae family, but they do have considerable sporting and food value and are gaining estee.

Listed as Vulnerable by IUCN.
