Habitat
This fish inhabits clear, fast-flowing rivers and streams, as well as lakes and reservoirs in temperate regions. It prefers cool, well-oxygenated waters with gravel or rocky substrates, commonly found in East Asia including Japan, Korea, and Russia. Geographic preferences include mountainous areas where water flows are more dynamic.
Diet
