Back-striped weasels are solitary and territorial, marking their ranges with scent glands to avoid encounters with others. They are primarily nocturnal, exhibiting agile and curious behaviors while climbing trees or swimming, and they are known for playful interactions during mating season.
Conservation Status
The IUCN lists the back-striped weasel as Least Concern, with a stable population trend. Major threats include habitat loss due to deforestation and incidental trapping for fur.
